Hook up culture - Christians need to change

Just watched a couple of talks about the Hook up culture, and as a Catholic I'd like to shout out to my Christian Brothers and Sisters.

GET ON BOARD WITH CONTRACEPTION!!!

If other Christians, who say that we need to put an end to this cultural dragon, want to see some real results, we need to restore real relationship values, not just to marriage, but to dating, respect for the opposite sex.

Because Christian religions condone the use of Contraceptives in marriage, you open wide the gates to teens and young adults all of the boundaries that lead to using other people as objects.  Because, lets face it.  If you are using contraception in marriage to prevent pregnancy, sex is recreation.  Since you view sex as recreation, your children, the ones that you decided to have or had by accident, see it the same way.  If they can have "fun" and with little chance of a consequence, than you have just given them the "yellow light" to proceed with caution.  Then they will most likely get hurt, hurt someone else, or give themselves the green light for more "recreation."

This one is meant to be funny.  It's actually sad and true.

NFP in response to contraception article

My wife and I use Natural Family Planning. You can Google it, and there are many different resources for practicing it. Best of all, it's the cheapest form of family planning. Natural Family Planning taught my wife and I how sacred our union is, and also how important it is to focus on each other, not just physically, but spiritually, and emotionally. We have been blessed with 3 beautiful girls, and have practiced NFP to space the family that we can handle. Sure, there are times when refraining from sex is necessary; but life isn't all about personal gratification (unless your a spoiled bratty kid).  Also, it keeps us from thinking we are in complete control of our lives through a pill, or a piece of rubber, etc (which are not as reliable as the labels claims).  It helps us to take responsibility for what we do, and if it doesn't work, we are the only ones who are responsible.

NFP gives us sound practical ways to postpone pregnancy in a way that not only helps us financially, but also strengthens the bond of the family, through communication and mutual self respect. Those who practice NFP, are 99% effective at postponing pregnancy.  We've come to learn so much about ourselves, and our relationship through the relatively short periods of abstinence. With NFP, I'm optimistic that our union will truly last a long and healthy lifetime.

Obama sitting on the tour bus, or driving it, and passengers starting to complain about how bumpy the ride is, because he just keeps throwing people under the bus, Rahm Emanuel being the latest victim, with the Chicago teachers strike.

Dear Sandra Fluke

After listening to your speech , I wonder when Obama is going to call on Bill Maher to apologize for his disgusting statements against Sarah and Bristol Palin. I guess not all women are equal to the President. Or maybe he's more worried about his "delegates or donors" and not women who disagree with him.

Get it together Sandra! We're not as dumb as you'd like us to be. We can see that you love the spotlight and contraceptive more than you like the real facts.

Don't pretend it's about the people who actually need contraception for life threatening issues. It's about having sex without consequences. If a woman has the right to say "yes" to having sex with someone, then I have the right to say "no" to pay for the possible outcome that she takes in her own hands.
